By the way, Drew make sure to sort out the affiliate section of E4E, because it's not working right now.

It is funny to see both Byron and Drew fight it out here when both are copying the content for their ebooks from a guy that wrote a web page on this over a year ago.

Both Byron and Drew's ebooks have the same photos and content from Michael Davis.

So I guess the questions is does Mr. Davis know about this?

Do a Google search for "How I built an electricity producing Solar Panel" and you will find the original. Then compare it to PDF's like this one:
    torbettengr.com/work/SOLAR_WIND/98solar.pdf
    or this one
    webandgraphicdesign-isabelsmith.com/solar/SolarDIYenergy_2.pdf

The short answer is yes, I have a signed Private Label Rights agreement with Michael Davis to use any and all content and pictures on his site dated March 19, 2009. Go ahead and contact Mike and ask him, he'll tell you this is the case.

Earth4energy on the other hand does not have any type of PLR with Mike. I was astonished to see the E4E PDF and how once again, there was blatant copying of my work. And yes, since I have legal rights, it is my work (not to mention we rewrote Mike’s original content).

I'm not sure it really matters but we have now totally rewritten the GreenDIYenergy solar guides and don't use any of Michael's content or pictures in our current guide (we still need to update some pictures on the website). We just used Michael’s content and pictures to launch greenDIYenergy in April.

    Byron,

What is going to happen come Dec. when all the "review" sites for your product have to disclose their relationship with your product?

    Hi Dugdale,

We dont sell that guide anymore. Our new guide will be online in about 7 days. Affiliates can request a review copy of the new guide when its online. At the moment we have 10 videos (about 3 hrs) and 7 guides.
Another hour of video will also be online in about 7 days.

For those of us outside the USA, not much I assume.

For those of you inside the USA, you'll just need to chose your words more carefully.

In case you've been living under a rock.... December FTC rules: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/endortest.shtm

This is a discussion for a different forum post but i don't think much will happen. Its like when you watch TV and those drug commercials come on its 3/4 disclaimer. People still "ask their doctors" about the drug, you just become numb to the message.

Since 90% of review sites are affiliate sites, everyone's site will soon have these disclaimers on them.

As marketers we're always adapting and after a month, things will smooth out. We're doing training for our affiliates on how to adapt to these new FTC changes and expect our affiliates will do just fine.

I don't think Drew is claiming anything different then what i'm saying regarding Mike's content.

As far as the website copy right issues, go look at both websites and see who changed. :)

Sure hope you guys went into a lot more depth and actually wrote something that could be considered a detailed DIY guide. I can't believe there's not a 100% refund rate for those "manuals" as posted above. They're just fluff without any substance IMO.
