this cannot make compare , many and many women have a good cooking , but also some more men have a great cooking . only in some countries men's main job is to work for family incomes .
Both can cook better if they are experts. This is not the question about that man can cook better than women or not.
A man who is working in a hotel, he will definitely good cook, but in the home he will like his wife or mother make food.
Both sexes can cook. That's a fact. But professional chefs... I think it's a mixture of things. For one, most women want a family (husband, kids, etc). In some countries (i.e Japan) it's not uncommon for a woman to give up her career for her family. Pretty much after marriage a lot of women decide to stay at home to raise a family while the husband turns out to be the working professional. Men are free from that thought because they're not being pressured by society to have kids or seen as 'abnormal' for being 40 and single. Second, being a professional chef is hard competition. It's almost like having top females in the technology world today. Both fields are extremely competitive and woman are the least competitive of the sexes. It's not a sexist statement, it's just the truth. We're not taught to be ferocious and competitive because it's seen as a 'manly' trait. Those of us who are are few in numbers and usually work in a male-dominated field (I know I will). Plus many woman hard a hard time separating emotion from strategy and they falter when it comes to taking risk and initiative.
I guess men are really more detailed and particular with distinctive tastes when it comes to cooking. And because we all know that majority of the chefs nowadays are men, then it's definitely men who are better cooks.
I have seen many of the best restaurants catering to the gourmets tongue have male chefs... but the cooking abilities of the women shouldn't be underestimated (hope my wife reads this line!)...
