Does anyone ever click on adsense? When I was introduced to the adsense program, I slowly stopped clicking on adsense ads, not purposely, but I just noticed that, well, I wasn't clicking on them. I also find that looking at the URL of the ad, they are never really of much interest, but I guess people who are new to the internet think they might be of use.
LOL... u live in a cave ? If none ever clicks on adsense, then how are the big guys, you and me making some decent bucks ?
The typical non internet savvy user do click on adword ads. Take some time to watch some friends and family that are not internet savvy and ask then to go to a MFA site. You will be surprised how often they click on the ads.
I wasn't saying people don't click on ads, I was wondering if people on the forum tend to click on ads. I have noticed, like you said above that people that are relatively new to the internet do get drawn in by them. I have just adapted to pretty much ingore them
For me it was the other way around. I never clicked an ad until I joined adsense and adwords. Then I started paying attention to ads and noticed they can lead to relevant and useful info or products. So now I click an ad once in a while, but still not very often.
As far as people on this forum clicking on adsense ads I would say the users that participate in the forum do not click on the ads often, but guest that just read the forum and do not participate would click on the ads more often.
Sometimes the ads are blended into the website content perfectly and i click on the ads before i realize i clicked on adsense. If the information i search for is relevant i also click on the ad.
Most of the internet users are still not aware of Adsense and what it is. Also, I read on DP somewhere that mostly women/girls click on ads and browse around more than compared to males. Also, as imnotadoctor mentioned, the non internet savvy people are the ones who click on adsense ads.
I click on adsense ads if they are of interest. I consider myself internet savvy too. I think the difference is that non-internet savvy people will land on a 'links only' page (the kind that violate googles TOS) and still click the links. I will only click the link if it is of interest and the site is a content site. I'd be suprised to hear of people refusing to click on adsense ads just because they are ads and they don't want a legitimate site owner to make money.
Kids and teenagers are the ones that click ads the most. I found that I rarely clicked ads ever since I became a publisher.
I click on adsense, mostly when I'm looking for the "better" products rather than all the spammy sites in the search engines.
I have noticed some large websites seem to get rid of the "google ads" message at the bottom of the ad block. This is the only time I have really been deceived by them.
