Its like the ads in magazines. Who reads those? Not me. But somebody must, and somebody must click online ads. I don't click on ads. I think if it was a good product it would show up in the organic google search.
For a while I did just what the OP did... then after about the 5th time of doing it, I thought what the hell is the point in going through extra effort to avoid helping someone earn money, for a website..? Even if you dont like their website, you saw the ad worth clicking on thanks to their site, so what's the problem? If a website owner is a blatent ad-crazed inconsiderate person who just wants to use their visitors, spam the pages with ads, etc.. then I become slightly cynical, and leave the site... but if I were to see an ad there that interested me, I think I'd probably go directly to the URL specified, not click on their ads, just for being the way they are. Chuckun EDIT: Generally I dont see any ad's worth clicking on, so I dont click ads really anyway.
I rarely click ads. I may click on something that truly interests me, such as an ad for a tech website, or a blog with a really cool name! I don't click on ads that advertise products though. I just cannot stand those! If I see an ad for a product (unless its on eBay of course!), I just ignore it, and move on!
i will click on an ad if it catches my attention and looks good, or if it is advertising an interesting product
I think only those people who do not know about PPC, click on ads. For example: Knowledge on Adsense or Adwords
