Many times when the OP doesn't choose a best answer, YA choose the best answer automatically based on votes from qualified members.
I personally think the person who posted should be the ultimate one to pick which one he feels is the best answer. After all he is the one asking the question..
You are right but also wrong. It is a place where the public can share their knowledge. Some with deep knowledge some others have shallow knowledge
yeah that would work if people would always choose an answer, but they doesn't. They got a good answer but they don't want to give you the points. Yes thats right Yahoo don't choose the answers, but the original poster can choose the answer or it can be done by other members voting for the best answer.
Anybody who has an Answers log-in can vote for the best answer if the questioner doesn't return to it (proviso - you may have to have reached level 2 to vote). You can even vote for your answer.
I think the poster has a couple of days to pick the best answer and than if he doesn't people vote on them and the best answer is decided by the voters
the guy who asked the question votes but also other people who read the question can vote as well. i think its just whoever gets more votes wins.
I think is the person who asks decides on the best answer, since he/she is the one who knows if the answer provided has helped or not
The asker chooses, if not then regular uses can vote on a best answer. Most people end up voting for their own.
