Who can open an account?

I have been denied for AdWords and the only reason I have gotten was... Something to do with a previous account. I did have an account at one time which I never used so I closed it. Now I can not get approved? I was wondering if my wife could open an account and use one of my sites while signing up? It appears that they base the accounts on your name and not sites or credit card info. Any ideas?

Had you not used your previous account at all?

Nope. I never used it a single time.

I asked for more info and the lady said that they did not need to have reason to deny or cancel accounts and that what she is stating is in their terms and conditions.

If you have been banned which it doesn't sound like you have, then there is no legal solution as you could not promote the same website. But otherwise you are fine to open a new account with a new credit card and user.

It means you must have used the same email address (I'm an AdWords Pro and this has happened plenty of times), try setting up a new email address and use that one, hopefully that will work!

Actually I did use a new email and a new CC. The problem originated when I created a new campaign with the new AdWords account that I was approved for. I guess I worded it wrong in the start of this thread.

I was approved for the 2nd account, but my very first ad that I created never got to run. It immediately said Campaign Suspended and it would not accept my CC funds to prepay the account. I contacted Google and that's when this all began. They said they would escalate my ticket to a higher department. A few days had went by and than they contacted me via email and stated that this was a result of a previous account. That is the account that I never ever used.

Did you have an uncleared balance on the previous account perhaps?

No. Actually on that 1st account although I used my CC to establish the account... The original funds were made with my hosting voucher of like $50. So when I closed the account I still had that available credit on there.
