Hi there, this is very interesting and little bit difficult mathematical question. you should split 30 to 9 by an odd number. who can calculate this? I know it is very difficult, but some one, who very good in mathematic, could find the answer. cheers.
Could you elaborate a bit more on what you exactly mean by ''split'' ? Do you mean reduce 30 to 9 using an odd number ? Using any mathematical symbol ?
sorry for my bad English. I mean divide 30 to 9 by an odd numbers. for example, there have 30 apple and 9 kids. you have to give all these apples by an odd numbers, like 1,3,5,7,9,11 and the answer mustn't be 2,4,6,8,10 every body should get apple and only get by odd numbers. I think you might be understand me now. if not, it means you couldn't find the answer. but this is very interesting question.
doesn't matter equal or not. but every one can get 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15 like an odd numbers. no 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16
On the face of it, the sum looks impossible. The sum of two odd numbers is always an even number. The sum of an even and an odd number is an odd number. So the sum of nine odd numbers will be odd, and 30 happens to be an even number.
I give up, If there is an answer to this (i suppose it is or you woudent post the riddle here) I would appresiate if you did PM it to me....
I have the answer. but I want to members DP calculate this by independence. please don't PM and just post it here and it will be interesting for mostly DP members. after this calculate will be second question. it is also very interesting like this one.
How are you defining "odd"? Definition for odd is: it is an integer of the form n = 2k + 1, where k is an integer. Integer as in whole numbers, no decimals, and it's negatives. If your definition of odd varies from this then please tell else it is impossible.
IMO an odd number is any integer that can be expressed in the form of 2k + 1. That includes negative numbers such as -1, -3, -5 and so on. Zero is not taken as an odd number. Waiting for a reply from Turksweb.
well, I can give you some tips. kids may have different amount apple. for example, one child can have 1 apple, another one can have 3, another one can have 5. the total of apple should be 30 and every one should get apple.
IMO the solution is NONE. 2 odd numbers are always an even number, so 4 odd numbers are always an even number too, so 8 odd numbers are always an even number too, so 9 odd numbers are always an odd number too, and 30 is an even numbers, so there is no solution.
There is no solution - The solution is none! If you have a solution post it. No matter how you work it you will come up with a even number- 1+1=2 3+3=6 You will ALWAYS come up with a even number 30 is even 9 Is odd You can think as long as you want, there is no solution dont waste your time. Simple Mathmatical knowledge tells you this. If you tried you wasted your time, and if you weren't smart enough to know that you probably wouldn't of came up with the right solution any how. Good try though
This one is impossible. I tried everything and it didn't work . But I got a solution for you, look: Child1: 0 Child2: 3 Child3: 3 Child4: 3 Child3: 3 Child6: 3 Child7: 3 Child8: 3 Child9: 9 I know I lost
Zero isn't odd. Some say it is neither even nor odd, others say it is even because it can be expressed in the 2k form.
Don't lie, you don't have the solution, because there is NO SOLUTION. At least if "every one should get apple" (as you said). So 0 for child1 as xcelent88 said is no valid
This is probably one of those shitty riddles where the solution is a mathematical fallacy. Like the one with the 3 hotel guests and the missing dollar.
