who bought unlimited reseller from OSHQ.com

hey guys

i bought an unlimited reseller hosting from OSHQ.com in december

now,they dont reply to me
i want to transfer to my own server but they dont reply to me.
i need only my backups and i dont want refund my money.
i lose 2 customers at this week

if another persons bought this service please tell me in this thread.

Don't mean to be offensive at all, but thats why most host's don't offer unlimited reseller packages. "Unlimited" and "Unmetered" should cause a red flag in your head, since there's no such thing as an Unlimited server.

 

I bought the package, I have had no down-time except 1 yesterday that they notified me on.
and to the post above, if you do your research unlimited or unmetered should not be an issue. I have a professional world wide company now offering 3500 GIGs of space, and one account with unlimited. It is available if done correctly.

 

Agreed! When Hostgator says its 300 GB, you guys will approve it , though its clearly visible that its a overselling and nothing else. But when its unmetered, you are not defining anything, your clients are able to take any quota from your hard drive, and your clients are certainly knowning the current status of the hard drive which letting them know how much they can take and use. Its certainly better than 300 GB hosting, which is obviously overselling, Only if you can maintain the quality.

@cocojambow: Dont you have access to your panel? If then you should be able to transfer the files taking a full backup.

how can i make backup by whm?

 

Login to each accounts cPanel and use the backup option. Set them to FTP to your server then move then to /home and finally go into WHM and select the "Restore a Full Backup/cpmove file" option which will list the archives there.

 

if your current server allowed copy accounts function via WHM, you can simply connect to each cpanel account at OSHQ and let it copy.

 

i have more than 50 accounts on my reseller. my disk used is over 500GB
is there a way to create backup completely at the one time?

 

By loggin into your current WHM at your new server,
scroll down to

Transfer: Copy multiple accounts/packages from another server

and follow the steps

log in to root..copy all / each account by copying the /home folder
or whatever your your path is to your accounts.

 

Yep, unlimited should always set off a red flag. Hosts that offer unlimited are just plain reckless in my honest opinion.

Do note though that there is a difference between unlimited and limitless hosting. If anyone needs refuge from an "unlimited" host but still wants the benefits, I'll be happy to help out!

 

Ok so Lunarpages is reckless, they now offer unlimited, also I have a 3500 GIG HD account

 

if the big companies sell extraordinary amount, they may and may not be reckless.
becuase they are likely to have load balancings and clusters to back it up (knowing even few customers actually uses ALL the given resources they can still function). - of course disregarding the violaton of CPU usage and AUP, if violating them, you will be terminated.

 

You're right. I should clarify my statement. Hosts that offer unlimited may be reckless. Hosts that, for example, use a template for their website, have incomplete pages, offer no helpdesk, and offer unlimited hosting for $0.99 should not be trusted.

On the other hand, hosts that have real looking websites, use payment methods other than "Paypal Subscribe" buttons, have a real helpdesk, and offer unlimited hosting at a realistic price should be trusted.

I generalized with my previous post - sorry about that. There just seems to be many more of the first type of hosts (reckless ones) than are reputable and reliable ones.

Last time I checked there weren't 3.5TB drives and it might cost up to 250$/month to rent this storage capacity (maybe 3 X 1TB drive).

Ah and backups are another story
