Hey guys, So there are "big dogs" who promote most of the sales for their respective affiliate networks/programs. I'm wondering what sites/DP users are one of the big players in the Amazon affiliate program? I'm eager to see what sites are getting the most traffic and generating the highest conversions. With Regards, Omar
problogger has commented a couple of times that he makes a fair amount off of amazon. The only place I see it though on his site is when he writes a post about a marketing book he's just read. He always includes the amazon affiliate link within the post.
clowct79 - - Well there's no standard lol, but I think making $5,000+ a month is pretty good. Keeping in mind that most of the stats I've seen posted on DP are in the $1,500 and less area. Any one else know of any one or any site that's doing really well with Amazon?
Big Dogs have been very busy hunting for potential buyers so you will hardly hear from any. Here you will find a lot of puppies though And BTW many of those big dogs will not be sharing their secret weapons by revealing their sites If you are still able to find any don't forget to share here
I can't imagine how that site could be doing monster business through Amazon...? With an exception of this one page: http://kenrockwell.com/donate.htm
My best month was $9k, but that was last December....and it's nowhere near that on average... but, my little network of sites do pretty well.
On Amazon, I am a little dog, but I opted for the gift certificate payouts and have managed to pull together enough for a new tower, 3 widescreen monitors, a net book, docking station, all in one printer, an iPod touch, iPod docking station/CD player/stereo and various accessories and nick knacks...so that works for me.
No big special tips really. I have a few sites that sell Amazon products specifically and I will usually drop a link widget in various places on some of my other blogs. I didn't really pay any attention to my Amazon efforts a whole lot and months went buy before I got my first payout. It got better when I started narrowing in on a niche of products. I know some people make money with "all in one" type sites that sell everything, but I personally don't see the need, or the purpose of them, since everyone knows you can just go to Amazon. You have to specialize in something and promote, do seo , write articles....you know, the same as you do with any other site, the difference with amazon is you need a lot of traffic. The biggest tips I can give is, design well, specify a niche, chose domains wisely within your niche and participate in communities where your customer base hangs out.
