I click ads now and then, but not much anymore.
When I click adsense ads, I do know that it are adsense ads; I only click them if they seem interesting; and obviously I don't click my own ads!

Not all adsense ads are like that...I am aware of them yet I click them because sometimes I am genuinely interested

I also click them now and again!

Anyway, you guys are giving yourselves way to much credit. Sit down behind someone who doesnt work with a computer all day, you'll see they click on these ads ALL THE TIME!! I helped out teaching an internet course for the terrrified and was really surprised at the amount of ads being clicked, especially in the google SERPS.

I agreed with that as a software designer/programmer myself.
My visual basic teacher alway marks people point down when they dont put the cursor back to the filed where the user entered in wrong data because most of the time we just put a msgbox and said Xfield is wrong and must be numeric only..xD

I certainly don't think it is an intelligence thing with those that click ads. The public at large is not really thinking about the links they click. If the link is interesting enough, they will click it as they are, first and foremost, looking for information. We work in the business so our viewpoints on PPC ads is vastly different than the general public.

Some people think the Adsense ads are just relevant Google links.

Sometimes I click on ads - not my own sites obviously - and that's when somebody advertises something like this: "Domain name for $0.50" and things like this.
I say to myself, either the ad is true which I will buy otherwise that would be a lesson for the advertiser not to tell lies and waste peoples time.

Most people online don't know even what's a browser, so they click ads accidentally thinking it's some useful info :D

Every time I've clicked on an Adsense ad it was by accident. I don't even read them, I've gotten far too used to seeing them :p

I'll click the ads when they pertain to what I'm looking for.

Usually, its something hard for me to find if I'm using the ads. So I click them if I really need what I think they may supply.

The last search that led me that direction, led with an advertising product that would be in the league of refrigerator magnets.

I forgot what it was - even though it was just a few weeks ago.

Believe it or not, I never clicked those ads when I didn't know what they were. This is before I was in the internet business and knew nothing about the web.

I always saw them and sometimes I would click on them unknowingly but as soon as i saw that long alien url, i would quickly hit the stop button on my browser.

If i can recall correctly I would be like 'what the heck is this'.

And now that I know what they are, I find myself clicking them just about everywhere I see them.

I mean, I know what's going on, so why not just click it. :) and that's just what I do.

I meant that in connection to the junk adverts, web masters can tell by just looking at the adverts which are going to be not worth even clicking on and can avoid them. Though I too might start to click them and cost them 5c lol.

Not always for me. Even before I got involved with web development. I would rarely, really rarely(1 out out like 1000+) I would click on. Its like watching those late night shows. The paid programming on late night TV. I watch but never really called. For I know its bogus and can get the info elsewhere. Like doing a search in any SE or going to a local library or getting a word of mouth from family or friends.
