According to your ideology, you must die right away because by your thoughts life has no purpose. Why are you living.

The question is "Why not keep on living?"
As long as life is easy, why die?
Because life has no purpose? Well it's not news to me, doesn't come as a shock, so obviously it's not a reason to die. :)

It's only in your head that life should have a purpose to be worth living. Life should be easy and/or rewarding (for pretty much doing nothing it's even better) in order to be worth living. But I don't blame anyone who wants to cut his own life short for any reason.

So basically you like the idea that life has a purpose, and that it is what exactly? To serve God following whatever is written in an ancient book? Do you call that a purpose seriously? :)
Wow! What a wonderful purpose your life has, more power to you man!

But isn't that useless. What will you do by staying happy, you will have to fucking die. You see humans are not complicated machines. Any complicated machines created by humans can never have emotions or individuality, the presense of being in some body. How does that individuality come.

For the past 3,000 years God has done nothing, it's humans who are the real creators and Gods. God didn't build my house, he didn't build my computers and he didn't build design or do anything to help my mobile phone come into existance. In terms of complexity humans are pretty much up there now in terms of creating complexity. I look at my apple laptop and I think to myself should I start worshiping Steve Jobs?

Even street dogs pass their life with much more easy and better than humans. There doesn't seem any purpose of their life. They will somehow get food, no tension in life, no purpose of life, etc

wats the difference then ? according to jamescolin, both the street dogs and humans are same !

In essence, I believe that atheists and theists all have the same fundamentals: faith. The only difference is where they put it in.

To the religious, god is a sort of physical representation of their faith and ideals - this father figure is there to provide a form of spiritual support to these people. When the people goes into emotional meltdown, God is who they look upon to bring them back on track.

The non-religious (like me - totally don't buy religion's story) tend to place their faith in another form. I can't say what it is; I think it differs from people to people. They might imagine a sort of reservoir of power within their body, and draw upon this reservoir in times of crisis, or use cold logic to conclude that these train-wrecks in the railway of life will pass as long as they continue to move forward.

You might say that the religious people are weak and desperate, relying upon a hypothetical, non-existent figure for support. You might claim that these god-less people are misguided, that they do not know what their greater destiny is. But whatever the reason, the bottom-line is clear - we all have faith, but some in God, and others in the paradigms that define their mindset, and subsequently their life.

You misunderstand. JamesColin just thinks that following God is not a good enough purpose to live.

btw, street dogs have 6 nipples. We have 2.

So 48 hours later you respond with the 73 virgin myth. How about you answer the question sir? I know why, because you have no answer.

I haven't read the bible or anything but for me serving god is serving humanity rather than sitting idle and worshipping. If god exists then he only makes us feel his presence because he wants us to things. If he was doing evrything good on his own what would have been the purpose of life.

no one is the same but they are both mammals. You shared ancestors with dogs ( and pigs) not that long ago. And yes that is a fact.

Yes, i spent these 48 hours to come up with that answer. As for origins of humans and other animals as well as for evolution of the Universe you can read up, there are tons of information out there (NOT written by goat herders that lived in tents 3 000 years ago)

The thread is generic without religion.

Since Creation exists the question (above) is not its meaning but what created it however since life evolves there is Meaning so the Creator also has a purpose. The reason and a means for there to be a chance for life to continue indefinitely.

Surly the purpose of all the creatures is the same?

For me the question of believing in God is rather silly. I mean that it's better not to believe, but just live in the wonderful worlds created by somebody or something and do not even think about. We should learn to feel the creator and understand his intention.
