Hi Guys. I think that blogging is a great way to earn some money with Google Adsense, but unless you outsource or have been going a good while, I imagine that it can takes years to develop a web presence and even then it is extremely competitive. I know it's not a problem for some webmasters on here who have been around for a good few years. Feels like I have been in the dark ages for a good while, but I have only just stumbled across the whole social networking white-label craze! I know the market is extensive at the moment, but most people tend to point you in the direction of Ning who I have been extremely impressed with, just looking around and testing their software. The great thing with creating a social networking site (ideally niche), seems to be that once you have setup the site how you like then you all you really have to worry about is the marketing! All of the content is created by the members and Ning allows you to add blogs, forums, videos and so on which can build itself in little time with a good member base. Obviously you can create a good site for free on there, but I imagine only a fool would not put the site on it's own domain which would cost around 5$ a month! Then I think it is around 25$ a month to remove their ads and then ad your own Adsense/Adbrite/Affiliate banners etc. If this was the all - then I would be very happy, but then you have to pay a further 25$ a month to remove the Ning promotion links (i.e get your own social network here) and then it will be a further 10$ a month when you start sucking up bandwidth for fun. I think some guys do offer a further 25$ a month package for further scripts which are really missing from Ning, but not sure if it's a reliable/trusted solution! Other than this though it looks like you can build a damn good mini-Myspace type site; going privately I can't imagine how much all of this would cost! To mention one further peeve would be how each new member becomes a member of their entire network, but I guess you can't have everything can ya. So, do you think Adsense can really pay with a white-label social networking site? Is it all about finding the perfect niche to fill? I am just curious as if I am gonna dedicate so much time, money and effort into a project I will need to know that it has a fair chance of paying off! I imagine CPM ads would pay well on the site, with POF, Markus Frind was pulling in 30 million impressions a day which was generating serious amounts of cash, but I think even 30k would pay quite well and wouldn't exactly be impossible. So, I guess I wondered if Adsense was a good idea for this kind of venture? If you created a specific niche then if you were successful then I imagine you could probably even sell highly targeted ad space which I know has been a problem for Myspace. But again, I just wonder if clickthroughs on a dedicated social networking niche could be quite high if you have plenty of conent filled blogs, forums etc. I just hope that Ning can move forward and bring out some more useful addons in the near future as I am considering a movie network, but definitely need some kind of useful ranking system which is not available as yet. Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated!
