Has anyone seen the latest press briefing? You can watch it here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F7MrPhklpo

About 14 minutes in, Helen Thomas and another gentleman start asking about how the meetings are staged. People are picked, the questions are picked, etc. to make the President and his message look good.

Do you agree that they only allow questions/people that will not voice the opposing opinion?

I certainly think they are staged. The American public isn't getting the whole story and the opposing opionions are not being represented. That's the core of America!

And I don't think it's a hatred for Obama and his policies because if you do your research on Helen Thomas, she was MUCH harder on Bush!

Helen Thomas would be a racist bigot, if only she weren't part of a protected minority group herself.

Any political statement is staged, especially a press conference. It's been like that for a long time. The essence of politics is to remain popular to be re-elected. You can't be re-elected if your not popular. Most of the politicians can't remain popular if they don't skew the only control they have over the press. When they give press briefings they only call on certain reporters they can count on to ask a question in their favor.
