Buying links is also a kind of "black hat SEO", so is link wheel. It is better to stay away from these methods.

I guess linkwheels is not black hat, Google "thinks" in this way
Look at the results of the searchings, at left side, you have this linkwhell option of the keyword that you are looking for
There´s a good way of doing a linkwheel and a bad way (like spamming)

How is a Link Wheel BlackHat? It's merely a system or guide. Any system turns Black when you spam it.

In google's eyes the only way to do white hat seo is to do NO seo, other than on page optimization. If you are actively building links BY any methods its blackhat. The only thing google wants is your site visitors going to your site and building links for you that way.

Buying links is blackhat??!! IMO you don't know much about black hat SEO, you seems to be assuming any SEO technique/methods(whatever you want to call it) that might not be recommended by google are blackhat.

I think 'blackhat' refers to the people who've found a loophole and automate ways to take advantage of it before the loophole's closed. Whereas 'whitehat' refers to people who build unique content and gain ranking naturally.

I think most of us realize the SE's don't want their indexes manipulated - and we do as much as we're comfortable with in-order to manipulate them somewhat.
