    I've consistently seen information stating that link exchanges will actually hurt your ranking as Google does not like them. :eek:

    google has its ways of trying to determine if a site has paid links, or one from link farms, link exchanges, etc. you're PR/SERP won't drop because of this, but the links won't count either.

    plus, reciprocal links count a lot less than one way backlinks.
