Among the listed shopping cart personally I like Virtuemart. Virtuemart has both shopping cart and CMS features. For our projects we use osCommerce (because it's free) and Avactis Cart (because our customers require it).
None and all of the above are the best. If one was better in all cases then it would have taken over the whole market. The reality is is that they are simply different. There are elements that will suit people best in certain circumstances but not in others - as per the comments above RingBoxer obviously has a preference for not requiring sign in where as others much prefer forcing people to sign up.
It depends on what type of items you are trying to sell. I have tried all of the shopping carts you mentioned and for selling digitial downloads Joomla + Virtuemart is the best. It is also really good for selling items that are dropped shipped. I think the component is called 'Wholesale component'
