    Thanks, what does this do? I googled, and all I can find is WP forum pages where people posted so many messages saying that its not working anymore...

    It allows you to change the slug (wp-admin). For instance, instead of yourdomain.(xxx)/wp-admin you can make it //yourdomain.(xxx)/mysite. It's accessed in the permalink section.

    I accessed one of my sites yesterday and it worked fine. Haven't seen any news about it not working. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

    oh ok, got it now. Seems like this is for security, right? So hackers etc cannot find your admin section.

    What other plugins would you install?
    Not just for a blog, but if you were trying to run a regular looking website with WP, or ecommerce website, etc.

    Yes.

    Looks like Spoiltdiva beat me to it - and then some.

    Marketing plugins I use most often are WordPress SEO by Yoast, W3 Total Cache, and Broken Link Checker.

    Those others I'm not familiar with but a couple do look interesting.

    We always recommend to new WP users that they use WordFence for security and W3 cache to help improve the speed of their WordPress.
