Which option would produce more adsense earnings? Option 1: - 2 websites - student info and careers Option 2: - 1 website with both topics combined
I would make two tightly niched websites, with your primary keyword in the domain. Then do all the usual seo and keyword optimzation on the rest of the sites. Making a dedicated site should improve it's quality score which would improve your earnings for each niche individually.
Too little info to determine which would produce more... But I would do 2 websites (at least picks up double traffic)
I own the domain name studentfaq.co.uk and was intending on just putting info for students on it then thought of adding some careers info but couldn't think of a domain name for it so went back to the idea of putting the information on the student website. I take it having 2 sites earning £10 a day would be better than 1 big site earning £20 per day?
Why would you get twice the traffic? If you have 50 pages on Site A and 50 pages on Site B, how is that different than 100 pages on Site C?
Do one site and built it right If you can build good quality links to two sites and have time to develop 2 GOOD sites then I'd go that route but most people don't have the time. Develop one big site and build up the brand and then down road you can do smaller gateway sites and link to it from the main site giving it some immediate authority.
Because having BOTH Site A and Site B indexed would give you a better chance getting MORE traffic than only 1 site (Site C) indexed. [At least in the beginning]
50 pages on one site indexed along with 50 pages indexed on the other site wouldn't be any different than 100 pages indexed on the combined site, though.
That's what I'm saying. Don't you think it's faster to get 50 pages indexed than getting 100 pages indexed? That's why doing 2 sites SHOULD be better.
You still have to get TWO SETS of 50 pages indexed to be effective, which is equal to the 100 pages on the one site. Using sitemaps I have no trouble getting 100 pages indexed VERY quickly when I add to my site.
2 sites is generally better than one. You diversify your risk. If one site tanks, you still have the other making £10 a day rather than nothing.
Would a subdomain for example, careers.studentfaq.co.uk be better than just jumping in and buying a domain. At least then if studentfaq gets a high PR the subdomain should get some of that traffic? Do search engines search subdomain urls? (Example: Someone searches for "student careers" and the search engine can see both keywords in the url?) I know that is poorly explained
