Hi, All, I'm thinking about using a Wordpress newsletter plugin to show weekly news in my website, does anyone know which plugins is better? Thanks.
Well, it's easier to just set up subscribe by email. Your users get updates every time you post. You don't have to create a weekly synapses and send it out seperately. If you still just want to have newsletter capability, honestly, many people who send out formal newsletters user a paid service like Constant Contact or Aweber. You can configure some aspects of plug ins like Subscribe 2 or Mail Chimp. Basically, if your users are already subscribed by email, you can set up a category for newsletters, and create separate content for that category to go out just like your regular post updates. These only send an expert, the goal is to get people to the site. Unless your newsletters are going to be different content than your blog posts, subscribe by email is the easiest way to keep readers updated by email and you can set that up with your feedburner account for free.
Thanks for the great info, it helps a lot! So in order to get people to subscribe, I'll need offer some incentive to trigger them to act, right?
I just direct my rss to feedburner and feedburner will send updates of your posts automatically to your subscriber without you doing some works, really simple.
I'm testing this one: http://www.smallwebsitehost.com/wordpress-newsletter-plugin/wordpress/ have had to rewrite the code associated with confirming emails but otherwise its good.
