Which will be the 1st directory to make it to PR8? The way I see it it is only a matter of time, here are some of the competitors:

    www.avivadirectory.com
    www.alivedirectory.com
    www.botw.org
    http://directory.v7n.com
    www.sevenseek.com
    www.business.com
    www.site-sift.com
    www.octopedia.com
    www.haabaa.com

I think these are the players, let me know which you think will be the 1st, also let me know if there is any I have forgot to mention.

(I know Dmoz and Yahoo are already there but they don't count)

There are many PR8 directories you probably just listed directories of people who are active in this forum... here is a PR8 web directory: http://www.webdirectory.com
Also, being PR8 is one thing and holding on to PR8 is another thing.
Two of the directories on your list were PR8 not so long ago. Though you did not list my directory to you list but you never know :)

I never new about yours but I would say you are a conetender with 200k backlinks, the other one looks rubbish and it's only for enviroment sites, I will get myself submited to yours pretty soon.

Neither Chris nor Jeff would like to buy links as before.
Maybe they think PR7 is enough.
Now i'm wondering which directory will be another alive or aviva, IMO http://www.directory.biz-giant.com/ will be.
Recently Malcolm are busy with buying tons of links Check here

IMHO, a directory that's PR 8 is just asking Google to be nuked. Not worth going there.

Agreed, the most suitable PR for a directory is between 5 and 7.

You can have a PR3 and also be nuked. You can have a PR8 and just be fine!
Google loves to spy on certain factors such as: How did that dude get that much backlinks on his site so he gets a PR8? What the guy is gonna do with that PR8 next? Lol and the biggest factor that will nuke you down is, does that guy is bragging about it? Cause everybody can have a PR8 with money.

    I don't think it is so evil to have a PR8. E.g. (i got a good one):

If you have a site 1 year old PR8 you'll be nuked!
If you have a site 10 years old that is PR8 you'll be fine!

And i think Octopedia is gonna be PR8... The conspiracy 'edia', wikipedia, webopedia, octopedia...
