If you're having trouble deciding, and it's mainly for the SE boost rather than direct traffic, I suggest you consider the relevance of each of your options, as well as the downsides of buying sitewides.

Google says it's getting better at detecting paid links, and will not count those it finds. There are two pretty simple indicators of paid links: often they are sitewide, and often they are unrelated to the domain they are on. So buy within your niche, or at least on websites where the audience is likely to be interested in what you have to sell. And avoid buying links on websites where there's a footer or sidebar with a bunch of unrelated links: all of these are likely to be flagged.

Think about this: search engines have long had the technology to determine which keywords are likely to appear together, and now they have huge sets of data to make these calculations more accurate. They could use both the link text and the landing page text to determine relevance, and they could look at all the other outgoing links as well.

    Thanks for the reply.

After reading a lot of articles and seo comments i have decided not to use option A. The reason why i was looking for sitewide link because of their importance in Yahoo ranking .. but i cant risk my google ranking bcoz of Yahoo .Well, Both the websites are not related to my website. But i am still considering going with option B. Although i m getting a link from footer and there are about 6 to 8 out going link to external websites from that page. But as i have never paid for a link before and almost all my links are natural. I am thinking that google will not see my link as a paid link .. i know its just a wild guess but i need few links from High PR websites. that i m unable to get them from my related website.

I also forgot to mention that both are .Org websites.

Well about 4 in option A and 8 in option B

Anyways, thanks for the reply hope to get more advices soon.
