It always depends, if you are an good writer and you know you might reach an online magazines front page with one of your articles than that would be the best, because you always have to watch two parameters one is the number of users who visit the site you advertise on (and building backlinks is pretty similar to advertising) and the other is the amount of content of the site.

Blog posting gives more back links, also article submission and forum posting is not far away. I have experienced getting more back links from blogging as compared to article submission, forum posting and social bookmarking.

But it again depends the niche and the circumstance you come across to build back links.

I think article submission is more effective for getting back link because by this your article will be related to your keyword. There for we can get relevant back link.

You have a bit more control with blog posting, however it can be hard work finding the right topics.

Personally, a combination of everything is best. Balance everything out, and you'll see success with your SEO. After all, it's a more natural way to market your website anyways.

Article writing may be a good choice. But make sure that what you write is original.

    Agree, but...

How to make sure that 23 social bookmarks are enough today and 8 blog posts are the best quantity for 13 days?

No offense, I'm just curious if there's a way to see how many backlinks did you get today and how many 2 weeks/months/years ago.

    ty in advance

UPD: i.e. how many posts should I have on this great forum to attract a couple of thousands visitors/backlinks to my site?
