Which version of PHPLD shall templates be coded for. Aka Which version is Popular !!

Hello,
This week i will be busy coding templates and releasing them for free.
I am in the dilemma as to which version of phpld is most famous and will get most user feedbacks and possible users trying the template on their directories.

Options for various versions of phpld are :

1. 2.0
2. 2.1
3. 2.1.2
4. 3.1
5. 3.2
6. Other Version?

Have opened a poll so users can vote. Its a multiple vote options poll, so please do not dilute the results by voting for all at once, please pick ur most fav. versions only.

Thanks a many, hoping this will help all template coders/designers decide which version to put emphasis on and hence help the phpld community with various template options and giving them a choice to make their directory look somewhat unique.

OOpsy, this is just what i wanted to ask...

And i always thought that the free version was the most obvious, guess i was wrong

 

I chose 3.06 because I think it's the most solid version that ever came out. no spaghetti code in it.

 

this poll will also helpful for all other theme makers, i think php 2.1 is most used version currently cause everyone go for free in start ..

 

i would say 2.1 and phpld 3.2

I would say 3.2. Recently I am noticing most of 2.x users are adopting paid version, in that case their obvious choice is 3.2.

 

my vote is for the free version 2.0, 2.1 and 2.1.2. I believe those who can afford to purchase a license, are serious player and will get custom template for their directories.

 

Yaa seems so, but only thing about 3 series is that phpld keeps releasing new versions which makes older templates incompatible with the new one. Hence, new templates or recoding is done almost every time.

With series 2 we know only 2.1.2 is gonaa be there, i doubt any other release will be done for series 2.

But i suppose we should concentrate on 2.1.2 (its alteast backward compatible with 2.1, 2.0) and 3.0.6 as rob said has no spagetti code.

Lets see what others say.

@alang i doubt those purchasing phpld license will get custom templates, i know few that are using few of the available free templates for paid version, cause investing too much in directory is not their goals. And with so many templates out there, i feel getting custom template is for those who plan to really market their directory well.

 

I think the reason being is the article mod on v3.2 as I know thats one of the reason I upgraded and you don't have to have another script

 

Most users use free templates, they rather start off free with style and learn on the way than just go straight to the paid and not know what they are doing so 2.1 would be my choice in my opinion
