which url is the best for seo let say for target keyword "makita cordless drill", i can't use "makita' in domain name because it is trademark, so which is the best alternative makita.cordlessdrill . com cordlessdrill . com/makita cordlessdrill . com/makita-cordless-drill
In my opinion i would create a URL not only for search engines behavior but as well for search users behavior as we all know that users also see the URL in the search users they've type.
I think just use cordlessdrill. com / Makita-cordless-drill Because .. This page will be helped by a backlink from main domain .. and the page URL of the page was already contains keywords
According to me cordlessdrill . com/makita-cordless-drill is the best to use but as far as my SEO knowledge concerns you can go with any URL but make sure you will have the SEO optimized unique content. Content will help you a lot more than the URLs. Having keyword in URL is also beneficial and that's the fact!
If you want to target "makita cordless drill" then the best url is cordlessdrill.com/makita-cordless-drill
This is where you should not guess anything about the keyword. You only need to have the keyword present in the URL if your competitors for the term have too. This will affect your scoring to get you to page one for the term.
I agree with akashseo that if you wish to target your "makita cordless drill" then the best url is cordlessdrill.com/makita-cordless-drill
well, since i see that no one gives an explanation for why "they'r opinion is" i will try to explain my point of view: makita.cordlessdrill . com the above url , with a subdomain of makita, is good only if you have a variety of makita cordless drills, e.g: diffrent models of the drill. so actually when entering makita.cordlessdrill . com, you will get a large list of available models. this is due to the fact that any part of domain that has a . after it, is considered (almost) a new domain. so actually, if we visiting your site (for example: www.makita.cordlessdrill . com) we have 4 diffrent "domains" and they will all rank diffrently: 1. www 2. makita 3. cordlessdrill 4. com which will all affect each other ( thats the reason a .com domain is prefered by the way, since it gets some nice weight on ranking ) cordlessdrill . com/makita the above url could work also, but is more appropiate to a short list of models. cordlessdrill . com/makita-cordless-drill the above url has a problem, since you are repeating keywords in the url, you might get less weight for that page, use the previouse one would be better then this. cordlessdrill . com /makita-MODEL well, this is quite clear, you specify a model, which will make the page rank higher, but only in case that you have a lot of companies and models ( e.g BUSH/MAKITA.. etc..) since most of the chances you will never put 1000's of cordless drills, i would have actually build my url like cordlessdrill .com/makita/model hope that helps. just wanted to add, that you should notice that in all versions i do not use the www. you should 301 redirect all traffic to www.cordlessdrill .com to cordlessdrill.com this is to avoid one more "domain"
thank all for helping me giving idea, but i wonder , how much hardest percentage EMD vs cordlessdrill . com/makita or cordlessdrill.com/makita-cordless-drill will be
Excellent response +Rep added. I would also suggest to use alternatively "makitacordlessdrill.com" or "makita-cordless-drill.com", unless it is specifically prohibited by makita. Thus, you would have all your keywords in the domain name, which is very good for ranking. BUT, if it IS prohibited, creating a subdomain "makita.cordlessdrill.com" would probably also fall under that prohibition, in which case you would have to use the /makita,/makita-cordless-drill, etc suggested by dementic.
just got email from amazon affiliate program "Hello from the Amazon Associates Program. We're unable to pre-approve websites for the Amazon Associates Program. If you may not use a word as domain name because it is a protected trademark, you may not use it as sub-domain nor sub directory.
