Which type of link would you rather have?

Of these 2 links, which would you rather have:

1) A NOFOLLOW link from a relevant site to your niche.

OR

2) A DOFOLLOW link from a non-relevant site.

Which has more value?

(I know the idea is to get a DOFOLLOW from a relevent site - but these are often few and far between, you are lucky if you find both )

 

Traffic stats for both sites?

Are both sites updated regularly? Outbound links profile? Age of site.

 

If a nofollow link can give me a lot of traffic, I don't care about dofollow link Otherwise I would take the dofollow link.

 

It depends if you simply want traffic or to build your seo. It probably depends on the likelihood of getting quality visitors from the relevant page.

 

Some good points there. If I were to build links for getting better rankings (i.e. SERPS), which method would you recommend?

 

If you were to build links for getting better rankings, of course I would recommend 2) A DOFOLLOW link from a non-relevant site. If for traffic purpose, I would say A NOFOLLOW link from a relevant site to your niche will benefit more.

 

I'd prefer a nofollow link from relevant, especially if the site gets lots of visitors. It would be more likely to result in visitors to your site.

 

I would choose a link from the page that has the most visitors, as that might give more traffic to my site.

 

It all depends what your going for. If your going for pr and you are offers a dofollow link on a high pr website, then you take that. If your are trying to sell a product and u offer ur service on a not related website, then its going to give you nothing. It all depends on what your trying to get out of it.

 

If the nofollow relevant link will send some traffic to my site then I will prefer this
type of link. However, if the nofollow relevant link will not send very much traffic
to my site I will prefer the dofollow non-relevant link.

 

For SEO purpose a dofollow link is what is required... if it is to increase traffic then the nofollow link from the relevant site is better

 

i will take the nofollow link from the relevant site any day of the year. they are more productive.

 

Dofollow link even if it is not relevant because they could help on the long run on SERP.

 

I would go definitely for the relevant nofollow link if the site got traffic. I care about traffic to my sites much more than any PR value.
