I have been trying to increase the CTR.. but.. I am not yet successful. So.. I just want to ask.. Which Traffic Source has better CTR? I have heard than StumpleUpon and Google has far better Click Through Rate.... What do you say??
I don't agree that social networking traffic has high CTR..but yea if we have targeted traffic from Search Engines then we can surely get high CTR
I can agree if you say Google has better CTR but stumbleupon? Basically the best traffic source should be the one coming from search engines because these are the visitors who are really interested in what they searched for.
I wouldn't really care, where the traffic comes from, as long as it is targeted. IMHO the main thing in proving CTR is to understand how the visitor thinks and get visitors who are actually inclined to spend money. I wrote up some AdSense ideas and tips, that helped me. Perhabs some of them might be of use to you too.
Traffic from search engines will have the best CTR, social bookmarking sites however do not have a good CTR at all. In order to improve CTR, you need to improve your ad placements + try different ad units like 250 * 250 ad unit.
Search engine results traffic for sure least is organic traffic ( who bookmarked you and come back a again)
High CTR comes from quality visitors, since most of ads shown are related to your content, thats the most common, so it depends on what kind of visitors you get not from where they come!
High CTR comes from organic, targeted traffic from SE's IMO. That's where I've seen an influx of high payouts.
Interesting discussion. On an eventful day in history, I happened to have the "Saddam Hanging Video" on one of my sites, virtually within minutes of it being released to the internet from the cell phone camera that was used to capture it. Ended up on Google's first page near the top for those keywords within an hour of posting it on my site. To make a long story short, I optimized the crap out of it and took in roughly $300+/- from Adsense, and around $50 in affiliate income from iPod accessories (they were becoming VERY hot at the time). Was this targeted traffic? About as targeted as it gets- but it wasn't a crowd looking to "buy" anything. The traffic was well into the hundreds of thousands by week's end, but a successful "investment" it was not. Your niche means everything where traffic is concerned. Are they looking at content, or looking to make a purchase? Big difference. Curiosity clicks get smart-priced these days, keep that in mind.
