They say traditional SEO is dead Which traditional link building services are still in demand NOW? -Web directory submission -Article directory submission -Forum posting -Press release submission -Blogpost -Blogroll / Homepage link
ALL have their own importance but having quality and authority content. Every effort you do for SEO can not achieve goal until having quantity, authority content and creativity.
Looks like forum posting and blog posting are in the lead. I cant say that I care much about any of these if we dont actually have any humans reading the content. Google is gonna drop the ranking if it sees the traffic bounce - right? I mean, thats how I interpret the way they behave.
Web directory submission, Article directory submission, Forum posting and Press release submission are still effective methods for link building but you should also focus on social media marketing for link building.
blogposts got 5 votes so for, this is because bog posts can itself be authority content and google give important to that
From my view each and every method still working in link building but all links need to be get from genuine sites not from any link sales sites. Have to check the sites you get link it need to be quality site no bad remarks from google or any negative feedback till date. You have to focus on quality not in quantity then you get the benefit other wise search engines give you negative result.
Forum and guest blog posting. Building your site's reputation in established communities related to it, for both backlinks and word of mouth promotion. Basically, on a forum, you gain respect and they know about your website and they trust your website because they trust and respect you. Guest blogging obviously builds authority, reputation and brings in traffic - so it's probably the most in-demand SEO service right now.

Social Media Optimization is the most popular now. Without having a Google Plus Promotion in place it is getting difficult to rank higher on Google
I didn't vote from the list from the traditional link building poll because most of them are abused and related to low quality sites.
In my experience, less is best. I only use high quality content and reputable links with some social links added in to pepper the variety up.
Google see most of these link building strategies as link scheme now. Though, if done properly and intend to use as a relationship building technique instead, then it can still be effective.
Every kind of link is good if it is coming from relevant topic and look like natural. The most non-natural links are site-wide links (blogroll & home page links). To me it just don't give any sense to link someone else's website from our homepage or give blogroll.
