I know proxies are best promoted through topsites and yahoo/google groups but I am having trouble finding the good ones.I started a proxy with and joined 23 topsites and 12 yahoo/google groups to be exact but always got 10-15 UV everyday..it really sucked.

So, I would like to know which sites are best to use??

Are paid promotion better than free promotion??

    Thanks.

Don't use Topsites or Yahoo Groups. They are spam havens and people stopped being active in them because of that.

And yes, Paid advertising is much better than free advertising. Common sense.

For free Traffic you can submit to tech-faq, azproxies, proxysites.ca, proxy.org, Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Groups some of the best places for free traffic.

If you have money to spend you can advertise your proxy in Newsletters, myspace bulletins, and buy links on other sites. I offer a complete promotion service starting at only $5.00 (See Sig) it includes a newsletter blast to 8400+ Subscribers, bold listing for 30 days on my site, 4 Proxy blog posts, and myspace bulletin to 6500 Friends.....All for $5.00 ($5.00 Bronze Package, your proxy is #3 -- $10.00 Silver Package Your Proxy is #2 in newsletter - - $15.00 Gold Package your proxy is #1 in newsletter)

You can try Facebook, Craigslist, Myspace and Digg as well. They are a free way to advertise as well.
