Which tags or elements do search engines ignore?

I know search engines are blind to images. What else?

I have these text I want to add to my webpage but I do not want the search engines to count them as text, just to increase the density of my keywords. So anyone knows which tag I can use for these non-search-engine-sensitive text?

They're not completely blind to images, some search engines will look at the alt/title attributes (although not as prominently as they used to, because of the old 0px by 0px spacer.gif with an alt tag full of keywords trick).

Are you trying to enclose some text in tags that basically says "don't count this as part of the page" to search engines? I don't think there's any easy way to do that because if crawlers don't understand a tag they'll probably just ignore it but not necessarily the text it contains.

As an aside, the sites in your signature throw up runtime errors for me...

Are you asking how to increase your keyword density without the text showing up on the page?

Yes I want to put a few lines of text somewhere where search engines will ignore.

Thanks for letting me know but which site gave you error? I clicked on all of them and they are all fine.

Yes and no. Yes I want to increase keyword density. No I do want the text to show. I thought about putting those text in an image, but just want to see if there are other options.

http://www.bebemau.com/ and http://www.vacationinkauai.net/ both give me:

    Server Error in '/' Application.
    Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

Plus some more error messages/info. I'm presumably you're looking at it from the same machine as the site is hosted on, whereas I'm looking at it from a remote site.

How can you increase keyword density if the SEs can't read the text? Keyword density, if it is important at all, is something that is measured or observed by the SEs. If you hide the text it will never increase anything because it will be invisible and therefore non existent as far as the SEs go????????

    Here's an example:

<p title="This text is visible to search engines but not to your visitor"><strong>Whatever text you want.</strong></p>

Oh no, I am not trying to hide text that has keywords in them. I am trying to hide this particular paragraph of text that has absolutely no keywords in it. This paragraph will only decrease my keyword density.

In that case the usual method is to put text in as graphic.

You could probably achieve your goal using an iframe, but I think your objective is misguided. Once your page is important enough, you will start ranking for (related) obscure terms that you never thought of if you keep all of the text on the same page. YMMV.

Once it starts ranking well for the main optimized term, it generally starts ranking well for related but obscure terms using all of the remaining words on the page.
