    Both can be good, but if you use affiliate programs make sure that they will interest your visitors based on your website subject. Using affiliate programs on your site that do not interest your users is a huge waste of time as you will generate very little if any money.

    I do both also, tho I haven't made anything from either yet except AdSense...

    Of course I don't have tons of traffic yet.. hehe

    I use both. Ads to 100% better for me - but i leave the affiliates on just incase since one sale could net you a good amt of cash instantly.

    For those of you who asked "What are affiliates?"
    look at CJ.com and Linksahre.com and Amazon.com--- they are the three i find most appealing. There are also many other smaller ones out there for specific sites.
