Which style do you prefer?

Which one of these 2 styles do you prefer?

Forum 1 would be my preference, a bit more spaced out.

What do you like/dislike about each style?

 

I like the header from style 1 looks nice rather than the block header style you have in the second one.
I think the colour choice in style 2 is a bit sickly tbh!!

To be honest, I love the background+logo of design 1, much much more than design 2. But the rest would be better in design 2.

The header in design 1 is impressive, but the overall look in design 2 is better than design 1.

 

I'll vote for Forum style 1. I simply like its color combination and sidebar's rounded corners.

 

Style 1 looks better IMO ... looks more of 2.0 style!!!

 

I hate the colour scheme of the second design.

 

style 2 is cool, but the "earthy" theme is a bit tired... i get the web master GROUND, and EARTH link but i just don't think it makes sense given your audience.

style 1 is ugly. change the font to comic sans and you'd have a daycare bulletin board.

 

Design 1 is OK.

 

1 would be my prefernece, the header gives it a better look and feel to start with

 

I think you should go with forum 1........... very clean and easy to get around

I agree, style #1 has a much cleaner look, but I'm a little tired of these glossy header elements. If the original question was to help you decide which one to use, I'd suggest to use both of them, make one default and let your users choose.
