I used to use Corel, however I havent used it in years. I suppose its the hype of everyone using PS, so everyone follows the trend to use PS.
no, people who use PS aren't trendy, they are non-professional. Corel is a vector drawing app - it's made for logo design. Photoshop is a photography image manipulation program, and it's made for retouching photographs. Usually folks who use PS for logo design are amateurs, beginners, or people who don't have the ability to use vector tools.
Actually i am not good in creating stuffs like logo, banner etc. but normally i create and edit my sites logos with Adobe Photoshop. Don't know anything about the illustrator DON.
Adobe Image Ready no longer exists, it's now just a built-in part of Photoshop. If you're looking for FREE software to make animated GIF's, there's always the GIMP Animation Package, that will run on the GIMP for free and is a great alternative to Imageready. http://www.GIMP.org
HAH wow, I checked out the website of that AAA Logo software, and in the Watermarked sample image of logo you can create using their software (watermarked because they're over-protective and afraid people will steal their logo) they ripped off a logo from SuSE linux. HYPOCRITES and pirates haha! as if! Maybe the reason AAA Logo makes such professional feeling logos is vecause they ARE professional logos, just not yours! their image (look for the green chameleon in the bottom row, middle column): SuSE logo:

Photoshop doesn't do vector graphics very well, and ironically, that's PRECISELY what you must have to create a logo at any professional standard of quality.
