Which social bookmarking provides the most traffic? I realize it depends upon the site you are bookmarking but in general what seems to work best?

Over the time - Stumble Upon.
    Instant traffic - Digg.

The traffic while free is a pure garbage. It depends on your niche obviously, but most of the cases it doesn't convert.

Strictly in terms of numbers, my sites have had the most referrals from del.icio.us and digg. It may or may not be quality but many of my clients concern themselves first of all with number of visitors to the site so it's been helpful to this end for increasing traffic.

Different channels work for different people, its digg for some and StumbleUpon for others. It depends on how you're approaching them.

Honestly, I dont think any of them do. All they're basically good for are backlinks. Only a select few make it to the front page of these services to get any real traffic - and even that is just a short burst.

if you can post interesting videos, on youtube you can put a url beginning by http:// and it will be a live link. You need to put it first thing in the description so that it will be clickable even before clicking on the "more.." link.

Youtube brings a constant flow of visits, not a surge like digg.

Stumbl upon gives you a nice feeling when you see a huge spike in your site analytics, but when you look into it in more detail, you'll find most of your stumblers only stay on the site for a few seconds. In other words: SU is useless.

Digg, Reddit, Propellor and similar services are much better for quality, targeted traffic which only continues to build (as long as your content is good). I stopped using SU a while ago, and, although I have less SU spikes these days, I njoy seeing the long Digg visits

I get most of my traffic from StumbleUpon, del.icio.us and from digg. Not much from digg but getting visitors ;)
