    Hi,

My budget allows me to buy only one site. I have a choice between gambling site and dating site.

I know both of the fields are oversaturated, but I still want to try. I have soccer related website (in my sig) and I want to use it to promote either DATING or GAMBLING site, which one do you think will do better.

    Thanks

P.S.: Are those fields still worthy to get into (gambling and dating)???

Gambling sites may probably make you money but you need to look into the laws in your country and where the site is hosted to determine if it is permitted. If you are running the site yourself, you will need to ensure that you have the money for the necessary payouts when someone wins.

A Dating site probably may not make you that much money but if done correctly, you probably get the satisfaction that you brought couples who may not have got to know each other together. If your community is big, you probably can charge for membership. I guess getting people to sign ups may be an uphill task because if there are too few people onboard, people may not want to sign up. But dating sites generally are more welcomed by the law but of course you need to add all those disclaimers about sexual predators and what not.

There's a lot of competition between gambling sites, but if you know how (& hopefully already have a plan) to promote a gambling site I definitely suggest a gambling site.

I will vote for dating site. If you create a very localized dating site which offers service withing your area can be good. :)

Though this is highly saturated still people see these sites. I also read some where in DP that females work like a magnet to attract website visitors :D

Are myspace websites worthy of buying and will they bring revenues in the long term?

It depends on what you are planning to run. I believe there are three kind of websites in question here. There is the MySpace Clone, MySpace Train or the MySpace Resource Site.

If you are looking for a myspace clone, ie a social networking site, it probably is pretty much like a dating site. You probably do well if you dedicate your time and effort into it to create a niche. In MySpace case, the competitive edge is its draw of Musicians and Comedians closer to their fan base. It helps new upcoming artistes gain some exposure. That niche is taken so it be difficult to replicate that.

MySpace Train can be popular because there are people who wants to accumulate friends and if you run a popular one, you can always charge for a featured placement for a couple of dollars for a day or a few days exposure.

For MySpace Resources, generally they are provided for free and you be relying on advertising dollars either via link sales or through banner sales.

I guess if it is done nicely, you most probably be able to make it.

I do run a Train and a Resource site and I cannot say I make real money out of it, I just run them for the sake of curiosity.
