Article writing. But it depends on how you do it and what you are good at. Forum marketing may give you tons and tons of visitors, just DO NOT spam.
For me social bookmarking has been a traffic generating system, but in a long run. I started getting hits after 6 months. However instant traffic generates for me only from Facebook and webmaster forums.

I think you are right, but still the traffic depends submission means if you write story attractive and submit then definitely it will get more traffic. Also, video submission is a great way to get more traffic.
