seobook.com has been recognized by several people. It is kind of expensive though and I personally have never read it so I can't recommend it.

i don't think that anyone will need to read seo books this days.
search engines algorithm are changing very fast so i don't think any seo book can keep up with algorithm changes.

i recommended reading top seo blog like the new one that i opened at Seo Guide

seobook is good, but like anything, its outdated. You wanna know what the BEST book/info is? The serps. They are REAL TIME and are telling you ALL the secrets of NOW, right in front of your nose. You just need to know how to read them and analyze them properly :)

    I can recommend the following:

Google's official seo guide starter kit
    The SEO mindset
    SEO an hour a day
    Wiley SEO bible vol2 - 2007
    SEO for dummies
    SEO marketing
    SEO rankings
    Second generation search

That's what I've been reading. Didn't read the SEObook.com but will give it a go.

There's no such thing as the "best" book. The best way is to combine different works together, absorb what's useful and drop what's not. Some books may contain info that's been out dated and not important today, so it's best to learn from different sources.

Many leading SEO blogs/forums are often a better source of information than books themselves. Of course you need to dive in every pool where you can and put to work what you've learned.
