Which Search Engines do you Submit Websites to?

Which search engines do you submit customer websites to?

I currently create a few links to websites expecting these to be picked up by Google and submit to Yahoo and Bing for safety.

Should I be submitting to dozens of other search engines as well?

Are there any search engines (free ones) that work by manual submission rather than by tracking down backlinks?

You're doing great on submitting to Google, Bing, and Yahoo. It probably will depend on your audience as well. There are some different search engines you could worry about if you're product, service, or message is for an international audience.

Submit your website to all search engines, so you can gain exposure, and also make on page and off page optimization, then you will be able to get traffic to your website...

Bing and Yahoo are now the same thing. Yahoo will be removing their Site Explorer in the next few months because of this reason.

I'm not sure if submitting the site helps much. Just ping the site.

Also create some backlinks. Ping the backlinks as well. The major search engines will find them.

I never submit to any search engines anymore. I usually can get a new site indexed by Google in about a day and then the other search engines will pick up the site. Google controls most of the traffic anyways, so in my opinion, doing search engine submissions is really not necessary.

I dont submit to any SE....its an easy way to announce you are a new site and end up in the sandbox. Best to build some high PR backlinks instead let the SE find you ;)
