I have a question to the Indians at dp, which search engine do most Indians use? Google.com, Google.co.in or another? Alexa shows that Google.co.in is listed on place 15 of the top 500 Sites, but do most Indians use Google.co.in? Or might there be another very popular search engine in India?
I'm not from India I live in Canada but I do deal with many. I asked about if their google.com forwarded to something else, and it does. All of them I know use Google, but it's Google.co.in
Google will automatically detect from which country you are and once you've type Google.com, you will be redirect to Google.co.in (if you're in India)
I am from India and Yes google automatically redirct to google.co.in whenever we type google.com But you can use google.com too by searching anything in google.co.in and then changing the URL after getting results from .co.in to .com --Ashish
Most would use google.co.in because Google automatically redirects you after detecting your country. You can visit google.com by using google.com/ncr but most people wouldn't bother doing that.
Apart from google.co.in there is another search engine khoj.com and I guess the Indian people search on yahoo too.
guruji search engine is famous in India, but thats only for local searches. Google and Yahoo is the most widely used searches for general purposes.
...yes, I agreed with you, Google automatically redirects you to your country page. So, I guess most of the people in Indian we be using Google.co.in
For India default search engine is google.co.in Most of the tome when one open google.com , it automatically redirects to google.co,in
Most probable used Google then Yahoo then after Bing. While using any search engine, it automatically search the local region search queries, the exact region specified result will show while we use any proxy or usking &gl=us ( for us results in google, specially for Google.com result) and in other search engines (Yahoo,Bing) provides search preference setting at top right corner.
