I think alexa, compete and semrush would all be nice sources for this purpose.

    Have a nice day,

Do you mean on your site? Google analytics does the job pretty well...

In the alternative, semrush is one of the better ones. Alexa seems pretty skewed and inaccurate...

I prefer Google Analytics which is the best one to know about our website traffic. It helps you to find out the Visits (reference, direct, search engine). We can find where the visitor's from through map overlay. Then for backlinks, use Yahoo Site Explorer.

Yes Analytics is an excellent tool for checking backlinks, traffic and its sources. Awstat is also good.

All these off-site statistics just lag your page - some are worse than others but you're much better off installing local analysers for your statistics - such as Awstats or something..

Google Analytics will be the best choice. Since it gives you all the information you need. Total no of visitors to a site. Through which source they are entering your site, how much they stay in the site, bounce rate, and many more.

Google analytic or GA is the best around. The traffic stats are quite detailed. Try it. It very easy to maneuver. :)

If you're talking about your site, GA and Yahoo Site Explorer are all you need. If it's other sites, I use Market Samurai. They have a really great tool that will tell you just about everything about competing sites. You may have to go to alexa or quantcast or the like for traffic info, but backlinks and pr and just about everything else can be found with that app.
