Given your site is using PHP and MyBB I see no reason as to change from PHP as it will be easier to integrate it with MyBB than to either use both .Net and PHP or try to migrate the forum onto a .Net replacement.

I think PHP is the easiest option. Asp.net is too complex.

PHP is widely used (its open source) and as stated above asp.net would not be easy to handle
So, you better stick with php or if you have deep pockets then hire some freelancer and ask for xhtml compatible pages
But, again that wouldn't be a best option since you have to call the developer every time even if you need some minor changes (of course if you don't know it)

I would argue that asp.Net (esp if using VB) is simpler than PHP for a newbie to understand once you understand the basic concept of OOP and the event model

If you need votes at this point. I would say PHP. All hosts support PHP any way so it's logical to use that. It's also widely used. Most popular and good CMS are based on php, so there is a good reason for that.

VB to learn OOP? seriously?, thats a horrible way to learn, VB hides things and makes no sense at all, i am one of those who would go against it to teach as a first language as it abstracts too much, and leaves alot to imagination and doesn't let the programmer know whats going on(in early levels, atleast).

If you have basic knowledge about html and familiarize php then no need to change your language. Well learning ASP.net needs a lot of time. If you have backgrounds on languages C#, C++ OOP then why not shift to ASP.net.
