Which Programming language is best for my site?

Hi all,

I am thinking in building of a site, and I need some advice about which language is best to build it. (PHP, ASP...)

It will be some blog like site, where users can post there blogs and stuff.

(I will choose bluehost)

maybe you should just install wordpress and stop worrying about what programming language to use

 

If you go the PHP/MYSQL you can find lot of blog softwares readily available either free or at a very resonable prices.

 

Go for Wordpress, its a robust CMS with plenty of nice plugins and widely supported.

 

For a small blog then it isnt going to be much difference if you choose .Net, PHP, JSF etc. Haven't got the usual love of Wordpress (mainly because we develop in .Net) but it is probably best for you to use an off the shelf solution and spend your time designing the look and feel unless you are wanting some unusual functionality.

 

For small blog you should definitely use fast and popular combination of PHP 5 and MySql. If it would be much bigger project, you could use something like RoR but PHP is good for now.

 

I will vote for PHP/MySql platform. You can start with Wordpress. I think that it's an excellent start for beginners.
