Which program to use

I want to create a video. I want to record my actions on the computer screen. For example, let's say I wanted to create a video titled "How to post on DP" (This is not the video I'm making, it's just an example).

I want to narrate the video with my own voice and the visual part would be exactly what is seen on my screen right now.

Which software would I use to create something like this? Is there an open source product?

    Thanks

Just for the record, Camtasia is windows only, the best mac software for screecasting is ScreenFlow.

Also, VLC media player can record your entire screen, for free, on any operating system.
