Is it worth to run PPC campaign for CB products? Which products are best to promote? Please share your expertise. Thanks
Yes, it's worth running PPC campaigns. I've just entered affiliate marketing from the arbitrage area, and it's a breath of fresh air to be running ad campaigns where I'm not bidding rock-bottom on keywords (which is the tactic with arbitrage). I'm bidding competitively on keywords and still clearing a profit.
It's absolutely worth running PPC campaigns for CB products. Determining which products are the best to promote is subjective. Some folks advocate focusing on the payout. Others rely on gravity, etc. One good rule of thumb is to read the sales page yourself. If you like it and would buy it (have bought it), it's probably worth buying. But if you look at the sales page and can't imagine buying it, don't promote it and expect anyone else to buy it.
It definitely can be worth it, if you do your research ahead of time and figure out the right target audience. One thing many new marketers miss is not doing the proper research, but rather finding a product, and then trying to market it to difference audiences via PPC... and they end up losing a lot of money! If you're serious about making a profit with PPC and Clickbank, do your research first, find out who your audience is and what their needs are, and then go to market. Chances are you'll be more successful.
Nicely said Mike. Almost all of my successful affiliates are quite loyal to my affiliate program. Coming to the original question, I know a couple of affiliates who make it big (read, >1500 a month) without using a single PPC campaign. Maybe it is useful to kickstart, but later, I guess, their way of writing articles, promoting them, sending highly targeted visitors to their landing pages on their site, rising the hype and then sending them to our site works much better than any other PPCs. They have reported 4-8% conversion rates while our average conversion is only 2-4%. I guess it all depends on the trust you develop with the readers before they actually get to the sales page. Regards, Stan.
look for lower gravity + relatively high payout and try to determine the refund rate from the payout in the CB marketplace. If you promote products with huge gravity your CPC will be higher due to all the competition.
