    I am looking for plugins that can automatically pull content from various sources and post it on my blog. Could be articles/news/pictures/breaking news/reviews and so forth.
    Which plugins are well known to do similar job?

    But if you want to auto post from RSS Feed, please try Multi RSS Feed plugin.
    I have used this free plugin in my some online newspaper project.

    The best one is wp robot that i used in past. second that i found is buzz burner check yourself both then decide which one you want.

    i would recommend wp autoblog plugin from wpmudev. It will add the feed category in your posts, No other plugin has this feature, wp robot or wp rss import etc.
