What should be done really is to drop the non performing players until they regain their form and cut the lakhs that they are paid for getting ducks ! Payment should be performance based as also their slot in the team.
Kumble? You kidding? The only diversified versatile and experienced bowler India has!! India has never had a good bowling attack, the only excellent bowling attack I remember was Kapil Dev, Roger Binny and part-timer Mohinder Amarnath (This dude took the vital wickets in all the matches). And after that I thought Srinath and Kumble were going to repeat Kapil Dev - Mohinder but Srinath got old too quickly - don't blame him - he was one heck of a fast bowler. I am wondering what happened to Nehra & Balaji - they were good!!! If Chappel removes Ganguly out of form then why not Sehwag? If Chappel offers Sehwag a chance then we need bowlers too - Pathan cannot and will not be all rounder - and he got chance on expense of Nehra and Balaji (full-time bowlers). Speak of speed Sreesanth is the only guy right now who can bowl fast. I will have to give in Munaf because of his line and length but speak of speed and you will see bowls wide as golden gate bridge. I still don't understand why you picked Kumble - just cuz he is old or he is just a bowler and can't bat at all?
Chappel is almost gone now. But will the selectors will be able to throw Sachin out of the team? Thats a big question. Infact its in news everywhere that Sachin is being considered for captaincy. That is absolutely rubbish thought and thats why Indian Cricket has almost died.
