Which phpLD version is easiest to upgrade and operate?

I previously had a site on phpLD 2.2 (free version)
I just bought a second hand licence of phpLD and now I see there are lots of options avaible at phpLD site.

The version on top of the list 5.1.5 is known to have bugs. I once tried to upgrade a client's site to 5.1.5 version and it had lot of problems.
Today I tried to upgrade to ver 4.2.2 and it also has problems. So I have gone back to the free 2.2 ver now.
Can anybody please tell me which phpld version is easiest to upgrade to?

Sounds like you had a problem with upgrading to 4.2.2 but that is a very stable version. You should seek some help.

What are you using the script for (what type of directory)? do you have editors? How much customization are you going to do?

Thanks I have now managed to upgrade to ver 4.2.2. :)

I have a general web directory. I am doing the editing. No customization. I am using a free phpld 4.2.2 template. I haven't even made a logo for it yet but will do it soon.

Honestly I havent upgraded my phpld for years and just been doing customizations myself. Directory features haven't upgraded that much so its probably more important to spend time and money on your template and marketing than choosing a specific version of phpld.
