Which pays the affiliate more CPC or CPA ?

Obviously there are several different ways of making money off of generating leads for products to be sold. I was wondering though comparing the various available options out there, is there better money in being paid CPC for every link click for a potential sale or does CPA make more sense generally?

For instance Shopzilla pays a certain amount for every click you send their way whether the person buys anything or not where as Amazon pays a commission based only on products sold.

I am sure there are a lot of different factors that effect this to a certain extent, but as a general rule which is more profitable for the person generating the lead ?

CPA is a little more risky then CPC but hands down you can make a lot more $$$ with CPA if done correctly ;)

It really depends on the niche. And your best bet is to split test with CPC & CPA to see which one works better. :)
