I am starting a company and to begin with sales we are expecting to be under 1,000/month. Should we start with paypal or should we use a site like 2checkout or Authorize.net? What are your opinions?

I would say that it depends from the type of business you are starting. If it has anything to do with "make money online" I wouldn't recommend PayPal because lately PP has been closing lots of business owners' accounts without warning. Apparently they don't like IMers.

In beginning, use PayPal and Bank Accounts to receive funds. You can go for a Payment Gateway, Once you get many clients making payment daily.

I dont think Paypal is creating problems for Indians. It all due to RBI and its laws.As Paypal have to do business in india and to stay,it has to follow RBI laws and Guidelines :)

Yes,The problem is because of RBI only. Why they are not stopping ministers and businessmen from filling Swiss bank accounts and why they are creating problems for Indian poeple and freelancers who are earning online :)

    Where do you live in?
Paypal in India has got severe problems due to interference of RBI.
Alertpay is a good choice as it accepts all credit cards and does transactions in INR too.

Hi replaymma, if you are based in the UK you should consider Nochex. We are very similar to PayPal, but our merchants say we provide a better service, our prices are lower, and we are UK based. We charge a maximum of 2.9% + 20p per transaction, with no monthly charge. If yours is a start-up company then a Nochex account is low risk since you pay nothing until you sell something. If your sales increase then you can ask for a lower rate or transfer elsewhere to get a lower rate without any long contract to tie you. Feel free to ask any questions or post me off line. Kind regards, Peter (Marketing Manager at Nochex)
