Most directories only accept your main page. If you want links to your inner pages, then try this social bookmarking list.
My personal practice with directories is this: • If they'll only accept the home page, that's what I submit. • If they state that they will accept inner pages, I always submit an inner page rather than the home page. I pick from among my 10 or 15 most important inner pages. In sum, any chance that comes my way to get an honest link to an inner page, I take it.
I usually submit the main URL. Some directories accept deep links so I try to get some links to my inner pages from them. You can substantially boost your inner pages by getting some external links to them.
I usually submit the first page of my site but if the directory allows me to submit deep links then I will submit them.
There are VERY few 'free deep link' directories. That was the reason info.vilesilencer totally removed the category from their list Social bookmarking (as snowbird already mentioned) is the way to go if you want deep links (for free)
Very true. You can get tons of deep links almost immediately with social bookmarking sites. And a good number of those SB sites are dofollow. I submit to multiple SB sites. And every time I add a new page, I submit it to each of those SB sites.
Has any one had any good experiences traffic wise with using these directories suggested? Or is it more for PR?
Very little traffic from the SB sites I'm on. I do it for the backlinks and the very small amount of traffic.
Thank you all for the great response So in summary 1.Submit home page to Dir 2.Submit deep links to Dir (If allowed) + Always try to get links to inner pages 3.SB all links ? 4.BTW, Jim, do you select the best pages based on traffic ? Thanks again for all the advice. ATT
