No, Mac is not OK. Most game titles do not support Mac, thanks to the lower sales volume. I wrote a comparison review between Mac and PC a couple of days back and many sources were suggesting this problem. Mac is a great PC to work because it don't deliver error messages. Overall build quality and softwares in Mac is superior to Windows. If you want to work, buy Mac. If you want to play games, buy Windows. I think that's it.
I play all my games on Windows XP and never had any problems. Plus, my machine is not as good as yours.
definitely not vista.I have hp pavilion dv 9000 and here was vista before, but vista is useing to much ram....and good games dont want to run at all.but now i put win 7 on....and everything is perfect. I recomend to everyone!!
Whether windows XP, windows Vista, or windows 7, all these windows platforms are good for gaming. The things you need to consider in order to have a high quality gaming experience is your processor at least 2.8Ghz + (a good cooling fan for your processor to maintain its temperature), your video card at least 512 of embedded memory, your RAM at least 4GB, and error free registry. These all contributes to your ultimate gaming experience. For windows xp, your RAM could be 2GB.
simple fact is, your process and memory and GFX wil suffice for all games pre 2008. However recent games will also work, but due to GFX limitations you will have to set down the res + quality.
Windows to run games. Among those I would go with XP because it's much more streamlined than the others so games can run better, but I don't think its support for multi-cores is really there past like 2 cores (which is what you have though). Vista is the worst creation ever for games, so stay FAR away from it. Windows 7 is ok if you have a bunch of cores like myself, they can be better utilized, but there are many issues with compatibility, etc. Don't ask me why but about half the new games that come out will not run on my system and that is with compatiblity set on, patches, running in XP mode or w/e, etc. and I am an IT guy so I know what I'm doing. your 1 TB hard drive is unnecessary though, it is about the RPM and seek time of the drive, not the size, but way more important than that is the SPEED of your ram. I am running at an ultra fast 1300mhz. If you can buy faster ram it will improve your gaming experience tremendously. Your graphics card is nice so no need for improvement there.
